Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like there’s less new yiff are around these days. Maybe it’s because the brony world is winding down now that mlp gen 4 is over? Or maybe I’m just wrong?

Posts to e621 during October of each year: (expand me)

    2007: 262

    2008: 412

    2009: 3.0k

    2010: 3.4k

    2011: 5.1k

    2012: 7.0k

    2013: 8.4k

    2014: 9.0k

    2015: 16.1k

    2016: 20.5k

    2017: 19.3k

    2018: 21.3k

    2019: 26.4k

    2020: 34.7k

    2021: 43.8k

    2022: 57.8k

2023: 57.8k (should end up a little bit higher since 10-31-23 is ongoing)

I was going to pull the numbers from each year but it turns out e621 only returns about 53k results per search, and you’d have to start breaking searches in half to get the real number. This quickly got out of hand from 2010 onwards so October it is.

TLDR we are up, up, and away.

I mostly look at e621. It’s just a feeling. I’ll bet e621 has data that I could actually look at, but I made this post instead =D

I think it’s just you, e6 and pixiv (if you follow furry tags) are full of great new stuff every week. In saying that, I have only really been keeping up with new stuff for a couple of years as opposed to trawling through the archives

Yeah I’m not saying there’s not great stuff. It just feels like it’s less than it used to be. But I didn’t look at any actual data, it could totally be me.

My main source is the bdsm tag on e621

Where are you looking? Artists? Sites? Tags? As others have said. I don’t think there is any shortage. Some Artists leave with new ones taking their place, sites change. There is a lot posted in harder to search locations too; Telegram, discord, twitter, subscribestar, patreon,…
