Easily the most overlooked character, with a great arc. We see him go from a goofy yet eager boy, into a competent and creative man.

      That’s why I love the times when you can feel the weight of his character in rare episodes where he isn’t treated as comic relief. They introduce us to the hidden depth of his character in the pilot episode when he solemnly puts on his warpaint, knowing he’s likely not going to survive. He is immediately dispatched in hilarious fashion, of course, but he didn’t hesitate to sacrifice himself for his tribe.

        that really does suck, most of the main cast have strong and complex arcs including sokka

      He represents the bad luck… in one.episode a fortune teller woman say to.him that she only see in his future suffering and pain…

        i guess i could see an argument for that but the whole finale of the show is about defying your fate.
