Growing up in the USSR I loved Cipollino, very disappointed to find out there is no English translation. It seems the only Gianni Rodari book translated into English is “The Moon of Kyiv” and they only published it recently in response to the war. Anglos always manage to find new creative ways to disappoint me when I thought that’s no longer possible.

I had a faulty wording that I think gave you the wrong idea, sorry. My brother’s a techbro and nephew’s too young to have any politics yet, but we live in different countries, get to see each other a few times a year. I’m thinking about how I can use that time well, so that he ends up better than his parents.
My sister-in-law is at least not a techbro, but she’s got a petit bourgeois background and occasionally has “what about the employers” thoughts when political discussions take place. They’re both xenophobic as hell, despite both being immigrants too.
i havent been in that situation yet, but i will be soon, i think the best apporach is to be nice to the kid, treat him as a person ask about his interests, drop some hints here and there. If his dad is how other techbros i know, his kid is going to grow up hating him and likely distancing away from his politics.
