We’ve reached a point where, whenever I see someone called a racist, I assume it’s a false accusation - and after reading the article, my suspicion is usually confirmed. The term has been so overused that it’s lost much of its meaning. What he said was needlessly personal and inflammatory, but I don’t see the racism that so many others here seem to.

Of all the people to make such a sick comment to, and try to be slick about it, he said that shit to Mehdi Hasan. The sharpest journalist and interviewer of our time.

Never should have had that Nazi fuck on in the first place.

Later, Girdusky retaliated in a post on X, saying: “You can stay on CNN if you falsely call every Republican a Nazi and have taken money from Qatar-funded media. Apparently you can’t go on CNN if you make a joke. I’m glad America gets to see what CNN stands for.”

Ah yes, once again, when they get caught out being shitbags, “iT wAs JuSt A jOkE!!!”

It wasn’t just racist, it was a threat.

He said to Hasan that he hoped his pager didn’t go off.

On Monday’s prime time show, after Muslim journalist Mehdi Hasan stated that he supports Palestinians, conservative commentator Ryan Girdusky responded, “I hope your beeper doesn’t go off.”

The remark is offensive, but how is it racist? The implication was that Hasan’s ideology is similar to that of Hezbollah, which isn’t a race.

Yeah, I was born in the US to Indian parents, and I was still 100% an Arab terrist in the south.

I think that’s quite a stretch. Girdusky’s comment is clearly a response specifically to Hasan’s expression of support for Palestinians. What’s the connection between “all supporters of Palestinians are terrorists” and being an Arab?
