Quick rundown of shows I am watching
- Oshi no Ko - This arc has really built up some great drama. Next episode is shaping up to be fantastic
- Alya - Yuki completely steals any scene she is in
- Love is Indivisible By Twins - Fantastic guilty pleasure show that is dripping with melodrama
- Tower of God - Been a slow start to this season, I am an episode or two behind now though, maybe it picks up
- Dungeon People - Been liking this one more than I thought I would. Cute main pair.
- Nokotan - This one is hot and cold for me. Some jokes connect and others don’t.
- Isekai Quality Assurance - This one has been interesting, but it hasn’t really blown me away yet (willing to give it some more time)
- Dahlia - Janky animation aside, I feel like the story here has been cut down a lot from the LNs…and it feels like it has.
- Plus-Sized Elf - I would have dropped this if it wasn’t half-length episodes
- Pseudo Harem - A couple episodes behind on this one, mostly due to time.
- Spice and Wolf - Been letting this one run without watching for a bit and plan to binge it later.
I have been pretty busy irl this past week, so I haven’t been able to post as much as normal or watch as much as I normally do. Adulting sucks sometimes :(
Isekai Suicide Squad: Been struggling on this one. It looks good, VA is good, but it’s just not grabbing my attention. I thought the 2 live action movies were both fine in a B movie way, but this just isn’t doing anything for me.
Delicious in Dungeon: After all the excitement I’ve seen for this show, I’m not feeling this much either. I haven’t gotten much plot or character development, and the cooking is all about fake stuff I can’t try, so that doesn’t help. Some of the monsters are unique though, like the Living Armor, but I don’t know if I’ll do season 2 of this.
To Your Eternity: Finished season 1. Now this one was pretty good! None of the baddies feel very threatening, but the emotional damage makes up for it. Couldn’t go straight through this show, had to take breaks for happy stuff.
Bakemonogatari: Very strange, and after 3 episodes, I’m not sure what I’m watching. I feel like I started on season 2 or something. All the cuts and text is odd, and the female MC whole personality seems to have done a 180 in 2 episodes.
My Deer Friend: Heard this was very weird. Watched the trailer. Gf angrily left the room 2 minutes into it, she was not a fan. I don’t think it’s great by any means, but I can take ridiculous in small doses. Gives me modern Bobobo vibes.
Reincarnated as a Slime S3: Background noise for me mostly. Ahead of this in the manga, and I almost dropped the manga during this stretch. Manga has caught my interest again though, so we’ll stick with this.
Plus Size Elf: Enjoying this more than I expected. I probably wouldn’t watch it if it was censored. It’s not good enough to watch half the episode blurred out, plus having read the manga, I’ve seen it already. The nudity isn’t even my style, it’s wayyyyy too exaggerated for my taste. The voices of the characters are all super charming though, and that ramps up what fun is actually there for me. I feel they may have added in more actual fitness tips than I remember as well. The chemistry between the characters, especially the elf and dark elf is perfect. I’d be friends with all these characters, so I’m liking this one.
Also excited that Aharen is getting a S2. Was not aware of that before the other day. I watched S1 a while back along side Tomo-chan, and that was a fun combo.
I literally just finished My Deer Friend and it was awesome and disappointing that there’s so little of it. Is it super new?
It’s a bit of an oddball one. Many, many jokes centered on deer puns.
The anime just came out a month ago, and I just looked up the manga, and there’s only about one season’s worth of story out there, 37 chapters.
There should be another episode Sunday 11 AUG. I couldn’t find how many eps are in this season anywhere.
It’s a really oddball show. I saw it was tops on the weekly rankings so I gave it a look. To me it feels like the energy of Bobobo got shoved into Azumanga Daioh.

Oshi no Ko with another great episode this past week as this arc builds to a conclusion. I expect next episode to rank high as well. The other show that caught my eye specifically on the reddit charts is Makeine as it has charged all the way up to #2 over the season.
I’ve been watching Steins;Gate. Nearly half way through, and I’m going to drop it.
Steins;Gate spoiler
The first thing that annoyed me was the protagonist’s chuunibyou personality. I was willing to tolerate it though.
After the first episode, the show was unbelievably boring - till one-third of the way in, when they finally made some progress with time travel. I was close to dropping it before then.
Unfortunately, just as it was getting exciting, the protagonist dropped the ball again by failing to communicate. The first time he did so, I forgave it because it seemed like he kept quiet out of consideration for Ruka.
The straw that broke the camel’s back was him receiving the threats and not informing the rest of his friends about them.
Quite disappointing for me, given the high rating. Probably giving it a 3 or 4 / 10
If you are not interested in it by the halfway point, I likely won’t be able to convince you otherwise, but with this being one of my all-time favorites, I feel you have made some unfair characterizations. I don’t want to spoil anything in case you decide to revisit it in the future or for anyone that hasn’t gotten to it, but without seeing the entire story, you aren’t getting the explanations for the things that are annoying you. The threads of the story that are dangling to keep you intrigued seem to be having the wrong effect on you.
I feel Steins;Gate is one of the classic the more you watch it, the more you love it things. There’s a good bit going on, from multiple POVs, and it’s coming to you out of order, especially on a first watch. So as it’s already annoyed you, I don’t think you should force yourself to watch it, but maybe start it over in a few months or something when you can give it more patience. I loved the story and all the characters, even before I got all the answers to everything, so it just may not be a thing for you, but I urge you to not cross this off your watch list for good.
This is a fair take. I remember watching it and being mostly confused until I got past the halfway point or so. That being said, if the first half’s plot threads that it waves at you aren’t piquing your interest, then the payoff when things get explained later probably isn’t going to be terribly satisfying.
I always think it’s like episodes 8 when things “get real” in the show, which would still be a long time, but I looked it up and it is ep 12. It definitely does not meet the 3 episode rule for watching.
They finally released the final episode to the second part of season 2 of maou gakuin… It’s been a long ride with so many delays, what happened Silver Link? Glad to say that I finally got to close another series from my pending list.
what happened Silver Link
They just put the currently airing Our Last Crusade Season 2 on an indefinite hiatus due to production issues, less than halfway through the season. Something is seriously messed up over there. I don’t know if they are just way overextended or what, but from the outside looking in, it looks bad.
I know these sorts of companies are usually overworked but damn something must be majorly wrong in SL to be like that.
So, Nier just announced that they are delaying the next episode by a week. You can’t help but feel like this is a cursed show at this point.
