Thinking about having my nipples pierced. However, my main source of doubt is that it would be very visible when using a T-shirt…

Thoughts?

Not into stuff like that myself but I would have thought the purpose of nipple rings was to show that you have nipple rings. Put on a tight shirt and walk proudly through the library with your chest out like a proud pigeon kind of thing.

But I guess one solution is to get extra piercings on your chest and stomach so people won’t be able to tell which piercing is the actual nipple piercing.

      Nah.

I want to get nipple piercings because I want anybody who have sex with me to play with them and, as a bonus, humiliate me and degrade me. (yes, I know, body modifiers frown upon the sexualization of piercings, but I want them precisely because they are sexual, lol)

But I don’t want Karen, Christian Mother of the Street, to be denouncing me to the police for being a gay freak of nature who will transmit homosexuality to her children when they see my piercings through my shirt.

Ah, I think I have been watching too much Star Trek and forget that prejudice still exists sometimes ☹️

I had a friend who was very self-conscious about her nipples. She used to wear band-aids over them whenever she was wearing a tee shirt or something that might let them show through or even just poke out a bit.

You can get them in various sizes, and as far as I know they stay on pretty much all day. If you have chest hair, maybe look for something a bit less aggressive when it comes to removing them.

        Unless you’re into that.

I have many friends with nipple piercings.

You can’t tell through a shirt.

Nobody is scrutinizing the shape of your nipples through a t shirt

You’re not wrong, that is a thing. Source: me, a man with nipple piercings.

It’s more obvious with solid colours and less obvious with a pattern.
The thicker or stiffer the fabric, the less the fabric will contour.

Seems like something you just have to own.

I always had pretty perky nipples. When I got them pierced, they became dangerous! I was always weirdly self conscious of my pokies as a man and began wearing undershirts as padding to make it less noticeable. If it bothers you, wear something a bit thicker, maybe hangs a bit looser on your shoulders.

Or, embrace 'em and #FreeTheNipple. Everyone has a pair (more or less). Just roll with it.

You can get stick-on nipple pads (usually used to stop visible leaks while breast-feeding).

I’d think you might need something like that while the piercing(s) are healing anyway.

They’re also very popular with women who wear dresses without bras. They tend to be flesh coloured.

Out of curiosity what is the appeal of getting your nips pierced? Out of all the places you could choose to get piercings the nips are like up there for one of the more sensitive areas of the body right?

As someone who wants them pierced and like the piercings on others, I just find it really hot. Particularly when someone has a nice chest

For some people it increases sensitivity. For me it’s just body jewelry. I didn’t have a ton of sensation before I got them pierced, so it wasn’t a huge deal.

I’ve had them before. If you want to hide them, wear a jacket or sweater. It’s not a big deal anymore though. The only people that ever said anything was friends and family teasing a bit. I’d still have them if my body didn’t reject them so often, but that’s just something to do with me

I loved mine, but eventually they started rejecting. But instead of being pushed out, it was like my skin was repeatedly cracking while trying to absorb them. Sucks, because they looked great.

Mine never fully healed but then I had my gall bladder removed and was on some massive antibiotics for a few weeks, and one of them finally healed up. A few years later I got a bad tooth infection, and the antibiotics healed up the other one. They do still get light crusties so I try not to move them except in the shower, but at least there’s been no sign of infection in the last 15 years.

I’ve had my nipples pierced for a few decades. Don’t bother trying to hide them because they don’t really stand out. Depending on the jewelry you’re wearing, of course. I wear simple captive bead rings and no one has ever noticed them through my clothing.

Happy to answer any questions about long-term nipple piercings, if anyone has questions.

I definitely don’t point and yell “pierced nipples!” whenever I see someone with pierced nipples. Seems rude?

I mean that’s a fair guess, but I’ve had them for 20 years, so I would assume that family or my wife would have mentioned if they were noticable.

Got mine done in '97, and have the same results. I usually wear tshirts, nothing tight but nothing thick either. Everyone I HAVE shown them to was taken completely by surprise and had no idea. I have full rings, I’ve heard those generally stand out more than barbells, although pulling my shirt tight I can only barely see the lump for the ball so maybe if OP got hardware with really large balls they might be noticeable?

I had one ring for about ten years and I don’t think it was ever noticeable through a t-shirt unless I pointed it out.

Got one for over a decade (unfortunately, one evening after removing it to clean it I forgot it, now I need to redo it).

Nobody would notice it. A small bump is visible, especially over a tight T shirt, but people don’t expect to see one anyway, so they don’t notice.

I got mine done because I was too afraid of people reaction about a banal earring, so I am confident that not many did notice.

All these comments about trying to cover them up are a bit odd to me.

Can’t you just remove them in settings where you think they might be visible and would rather not have them showing?

Granted, I don’t know anything about nipple piercings. But I have my ears pierced and I can choose whether or not I want to put earrings in my ears or leave them “naked” any given day.

I get that you’d have to likely wear them for a bit at first so the holes don’t immediately close at first…but after that why can’t you just put them in and out as you please.

Again, I don’t know anything about nipple piercings, so if I’m wrong about that then I apologize.

It takes several months to heal. During those months, you can’t take them off or else the hole heals and disappears.
