If you fly in remote enough areas (outside of the post-9/11 security perimeter), the planes are still open to the cockpit. Sometimes it feels like I’m flying the plane from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom with the chicken in the cabin with me. The pilots are indeed often hilarious.
This is why the cockpit has a door. If they didn’t have a door, the pilots would be fucking with the passengers all the time with pranks like this.

I took a flight down to Chicago and i had the option of taking a 12 seater and it was quite the fun experience compared to normal bigger airplanes.
