We’ve gotten over 100 sign-ups since launch, which is a massively good start, especially considering that everyone in the lemmyverse can subscribe to our communities and participate.

Now we need to keep the ball rolling to gain more and more momentum.

Here’s some ideas:

  1. Go over to [email protected] or https://yiffit.net/c/[email protected] and introduce yourself. Your yiffit account gives you access to countless local and remote communities.
  2. Post your favorite artwork, SFW or NSFW (remember to give attribution)
  3. Create a new thread about your favorite food, hobbies or projects! Sharing art is only half what this instance has to offer.
  4. Create your own “subyiffit” / community and moderate it as you see fit. Carve out your own space.
  5. Help us come up with a name for our yeen mascot.
  6. Post here from any Mastodon account by simply mentioning it’s name. For example @[email protected] or @[email protected]
  7. Tell your friends!

Corporations like reddit are counting on our inaction to keep control, but we have a golden opportunity to create queer, authentic furry platforms, run by furries, for furries.

Let’s go!

    Btw thanks for hosting 💜

I gotta say I’m liking the lemmy experience a lot more than my attempt at mastodon. Though I may have to give it another shake.

I’m glad you like it ^^

Check out furryfediverse.org to join a furry instance. You can join mine which is packmates.org and I promise you’ll get a super furry federated timeline since we only subscribe to furry relays. You can still follow anyone on Mastodon, of course, but I found that as a furry having a furry federated timeline is much more appealing.

        thats super cool!

I like the idea of the fediverse, maybe with reddit burning down we’ll get enough folks to hit critical mass and it takes off.

Same, mastodon seemed like Twitter but with extra steps. And I don’t use Twitter at all to begin with so I can’t say I was very interested. I have always loved forum format though

Mastodon is similar, but it’s basically the same concept as here: It’s decentralized. Plus there are other types of software like, Friendica, Pleroma, and Misskey which can do the microblog style, but have completely different feels. (But If you’re not into the microblog style then that makes sense why you wouldn’t like it.) Looking at my twitter I have 392 tweets. (I’ve had that account since 2008) On my Misskey instance I run I have 9,509 notes and I’ve been running that for over 3 years now. So I guess it depends on if you just dislike the microblog style or you don’t like the atmosphere on twitter. (or both) But I would suggest shopping around for softwares and for instances before discarding it entirely.
