i really hope people take this whole debacle as a lesson that businesses don’t care about humanitarian ideals like knowledge and community. reddit should have been a nonprofit and this is a textbook example of greed on their part. i hope people realize that if they want stability they have to stick with the fediverse and places like lemmy. federated sites like lemmy mean that some corporate shill can’t just change his mind after looking at his wallet and flip our world upside down
