I live about 5km away from where I work, that’s like a 30 minute walk (I used to ride my bike, but I need to fix it 😁). I rarely drive my car, weekends only or when I need to take the kid somewhere.
You can also go to anywhere on foot, sooner or later. Why do you pay for transport?
