If you want to start in season 1, and decide to bail, just jump to season 2. If you enjoy 2 you could always go back and catch up on 1

The saying goes, start when Riker gets his beard which is season 2.
Season 1 might put you off and you can come back to it.
If you want to start in season 1, and decide to bail, just jump to season 2.
