My friend tried this thing where you nap for 20 minutes every 4 hours or so.

They managed to get into a good rhythm with it for a while.

They stopped because they missed sleep and it was weird as fuck being awake all the time.

They had an amazing ability to fall asleep almost instantly so I imagine that made it much easier.

That’s only 2 hours of sleep a day, idk how this could work longer than a couple of days before crashing.

The theory is that after a couple of days of you short circuit the natural sleep cycle, to go into REM sleep instantly when you sleep. As we only experience about 2 hrs of REM sleep per night, you get all of the sleep you need in these 15-20 min bursts, every 4 hrs or so. Think how when you’re really tired, a little nap will fully refresh you for a few hrs., but sleep a little longer, and your fucked!

      Sleep deprivation will do that.

It’s called the Everyman/uberman sleep cycle depending on how extreme you go and it’s pretty interesting. Tried the Everyman for awhile and it was nice but if you get sick or otherwise mess it up it you basically have to restart the whole process. Also tough to do if you’re not single, once I met my wife I fully gave it up.

Yup. Only works if you can hit your nap times every time without fail. A single missed nap will completely ruin everything. Not a lot of people have lives/jobs conducive to naps every 4 hours on the dot.

No, no, no, no. This is evolutionary. I been reading this book on Leonardo da Vinci. See, that means ‘from Vinci’.
