Capitalism is supposed to give consumers choice. It could help if consumers used a greater variety of video sites, eg. Dailymotion or that weird chinese thing BiliBili. If they keep focusing on Youtube, despite all that bullshit, they are basically begging for more bullshit.

User choice comes ONLY from regulation preventing monopolies and dishonest practices.

Third option is to use the service without ads by either subscribing or using an adblocker.
