Anyone have any clue what the source of this one is? It’s been on my drive since 6/7/2004 (local file date) and back then nobody knew who the artist was. It’s simply labeled ‘MYSTERY.jpg’ – I vaguely recall that someone said it might be Max Blackrabbit but it doesn’t really look like his work to me.
So, my internet sleuthing has reached concerning levels. Here’s the e621 post. In the comments, there’s someone saying they contacted MaxBlackrabbit and the artist confirmed, “wow, that’s an old one, It’s an acrylic painting but it was huge, like 2 comic pages put together. it’s my character 'Kenya” Barely did anything with her since. It was done for an AAC artshow but it didn’t sell so i gave it to a friend who was big into red pandas."
Damn, at least it corroborates some thread I read at least that long ago. Nice work.
