    Agreed about the survivors part, it seems like a major oversight that I hope they can explain in a satisfying way.

    As for the Gorn on the ship, I presumed it was just a crewman trying to gather intelligence on the Federation by picking through the remains of the saucer section

      @Zoboomafoo I watched again. Maybe it does show reasonable transition between “looking for survivors with little hope” & “crashing the wreck gives good chance of saving others now”. They also assume Chapel was in (destroyed) sick bay, but she’d only just beamed back, so probably wasn’t. Lots to speculate about with the lone Gorn though. From what we know about younglings, it seems the adult would‘ve detected Chapel, and be capable of killing both instantly, so maybe didn’t intend to?
