Claiming it’s stupidity is dangerous and wrong. The DeVoss’ goal is an American theocracy, which can only occur if public education is killed and replaced with Christian indoctrination.
If you believe what they actually say, sure. I think they care more about “opening up new markets for investment” i.e. the complete privatization of education in this country, an area in which they are heavily invested already. If public schools are dismantled the DeVosses will reap a tidy profit.
