Blizzard has made a number of tweaks to the MMO to keep hardcore fair and fun.

In the old plato system avatar game if you died you lost a smidge of stats or experience or something but where put into purgatory which was filled with undead and you had to run your but off to find a portal out because if you died in there the process repeated and you could be whittled down to the point of needing to make a new character.

I have a friend that hasn’t played since MoP, and he’s going to resub for Hardcore just to try and grief his favorite streamer lmfao. I’m guessing the streamer servers will have massive queues, wonder if Blizzard will be actively banning griefers.

Wonder how that will work with a boss like Vaelestraz that’s designed to unavoidably kill players as part of the fight.

My favorite memory of that fight, is my guild trying to attempt him after BC released with a paladin tank, not realizing he would be targeted twice due to having mana + threat.

Such a fun fight, but definitely an interesting question. What about the Meet at the Grave quest?

I’m looking forward to giving hardcore a try. I played classic quite a bit up to Wotlk. I didn’t have any interest in hardcore until it became an official thing (it used to be an add on that you installed that kept track of all the players who attempted the hardcore challenge).

I don’t think I will do too well. I expect a lot of swearing.
