Commonwealth ghouls have access to a wig shop.

That’s the only way i can figure it.

Fallout 4 seperated the design for feral and non feral ghouls, making the former more human and the ladder less so. Ignoring that is kinda cherry picky

All feral ghouls should look like the top.

Non-feral ghouls should mostly have their heads totally shaved because they’re still ghouls and can’t grow a full head of hair. Although some of them might wear wigs lmao

personally i think ghouls should have some more variance. admittedly, given the creation kit’s systems it might be a little difficult, but surely a few extra headparts and some wackier, more deformed shapekeys could do something

Yeah I agree with that. More horrible disfigurement would make sense for ghouls. They’ve become a bit too comic for my liking. I know Fallout has always had a humourous element, but I’d like to see future entries in the series lean more into the horror side of it again.

Hancock from Fallout 4, source: fallout.wiki Ghouls are too cute now, at least in Fallout 3 they were clearly disfigured (if unvaried and lacking expressiveness) I agree, we gotta lean into the horror of ghoulification. As of present the anti-ghoul sentiments seem really hard to hold up in setting. Like, we coulda had ghouls with half-attached ears, and cancerous growths on their necks, but now we just get kinda melty mannequins.

In every BGS game ghouls all look identical, and it drives me insane. I feel it really detracts from the fact that ghoulification should be a unique experience to all that undergo it. Unless the Followers have invented some new kinda wasteland plastic surgery trend, of course, but I doubt that.

also ferals look so different from sane ghouls in all the bgs games which I feel is kind of a missed oppurtunity

No they aren’t. FEV mutants were exposed to the Forced Evolutionary Virus which changed them.

Ghouls were exposed to radiation which ghoulified them.

I think they just were in f1 (iirc they were mostly moral device in the game, like who cares they are zombies or oh god I can’t just steal from people), in f2 they were exposed to fev, and in later games not sure probably retconned one way or another.

If there is no fev in the air where all other mutants come from? 🤔

the beginning of this comment is hard to interpret for me, so I’m just gonna leave it alone. but I think the idea is the other mutants are just caused by radiation, or at least FEV isn’t explicitly a cause other than… in racoons according to 76? radiation works differently in fallout cause the devs wanted cool monsters

Unique because a story telling device? I believe overexposure to radiation will have the same effect on all human.
