I have always made a .plan file on every unix-like system I have been on. Just in case I get fingered. Heck, even my at home single user devices have a .plan. Just to give the hackers a treat.

Most states have laws saying there has to be a chance to take a simple remedy first. So your case would likely get thrown out if you didn’t go to IT and try first. It’s when you give them the opportunity to fix it and they refuse that you get rich.
even without such a law everyone’s going to think you’re an idiot anyways and not bother with your nonsense, always get evidence in writing.
Contact IT and get it change. There’s no way this is worthy of a lawsuit, let alone something worth million.

It isn’t. People just like to bring up the 2 or 3 most extreme examples from a country of a third of a billion people and pretend that’s a normal, everyday occurrence. You’d think that people would realize that none of us have ever actually met anyone that ever successfully sued anyone for millions of dollars and extrapolate, but they’d rather be mad at some imaginary problem in a way that conveniently makes it more difficult to use the legal system to defend ourselves from rich people if we “fix” it.
I’ve heard you guys hate puns, but dedicating a whole lawsuit type to them is a bit over the edge, IMO…
