Not wrong, but probably not the best thing to say out loud from a foreign relations standpoint.
Well, I suppose it depends on what your goals are, but on the surface it doesn’t seem like what you’d say if you want something from China, though.
Welp, here comes the Chinese outrage. He’s correct ofc, but he shouldn’t say it, it’ll just push China further away - or it’ll give them an excuse to push further away.
Will be interesting to see how the CCP responds.
